Thomas Pliny Maddox (1856-1942) and his wife Amanda (Ellor/Elizabeth) Black (1863-1925) lived and are buried in Aztec. Thomas invented a steel apple press that was written about in San Juan Democrat in 1909. Amanda was the daughter of Ephraim and Martha Black (below).
